EasyBCD – Tool to Tweak the Windows Bootloader
In some cases you need only take a look at how a piece of software is named and you immediately know what that application can do. When presented with the the NeoSmart Technologies-developed EasyBCD application this is not the case. From the software’s name alone you will not be able to get what the software application can do for you – that is why I am going to spell it out for you: with EasyBCD you can tweak the Windows bootloader.
The first thing you are going to like is the fact that EasyBCD is freeware. This means you can download the application (download weighs in at less than 1MB, so it should complete in a blink), install it on your computer and use it free of charge for as long as you see fit.
Speaking of using EasyBCD, what can this piece of software be used for? To put it bluntly, you can set-up dual-boots between Vista and the latest iteration of the Microsoft-developed operating system, Windows 7. Alternatively you can set up dual-boots between Vista and one of the numerous Linux distributions available for download free of charge out there. Let’s not forget the Apple-developed Mac OS X operating system; you can set up dual-boots between Vista and Mac OS X also.
EasyBCD is the tool to use in various scenarios: you want to add an entry to your old XP partition, you want to create a dual-boot system for testing purposes, you want to debug the Windows Kernel. Every task can seamlessly be performed since EasyBCD was created with ease of use in mind. To put it bluntly, even the novice computer user should be able to use this application hassle-free. Since you want a dual-boot, I’m going to assume you’re not exactly the computer novice – hence you should definitely not have a problem with EasyBCD.
EasyBCD, a free piece of software you can use to create dual-boots, view bootloader setting, modify boot settings, backup and restore settings, add or remove entries in the bootloader, and much more.
